Australian producer Dugong Jr’s chance meeting with frequent JUICE-featured duo +2dB at a Hot Since 82 gig in KL two years ago wasn’t for nothing – it led to a long-simmering intercontinental collabo, which finally sees release today. And via Mad Decent’s new imprint, Good Enuff, to boot! Using our local fruits (durian and mangosteen) as descriptors of the track, it’s safe to say that a certain adjective relating to our climate that has become something of a genre name is a fitting word to describe the vibe of this summer jam. Here, +2dB’s usually despondent vocals are garbled by Dugong – chopped and screwed-style, all soaked in purple drank – and fitted onto a pop beat, making for a song that is as uptempo as it is chilled out.
