B’Nottee’s Handmade Stationery

Two interior architects — Edmund and E-Jie — who had a knack for craft work and journaling were stuck in a rut after realising that stationery products in our market were either not up to their standards or came with an unjustifiable price tag. So they took it upon themselves to create personal notebooks which then progressed to them wanting to share it with other people. B’Nottee was founded early this year and contrary to its name, it doesn’t have any relation to the word ‘naughty’. The name was thought of after combining the word ‘note’ and the founders’ initials, then the B came into place because it reminded Edmund and E-Jie of how encouraging moments begin with ‘be’ — like ‘be kind’, ‘be wise’, or ‘be good’, you get the idea. Ergo, the ‘b’ in this setting is to encourage everyone to journal and love stationery.

B’Nottee’s products are eco-friendly. The inserts are made of 100% recycled and FSC approved paper while the covers are of washable craft paper and yes, it can be washed. This particular type of material is also durable, versatile, and handmade. Versatile in the sense that it can be used for more than just documenting one’s day or taking down notes; its inserts are able to sustain calligraphy, light watercolour, marker ink, and other mediums with ease. The founders are hands-on in every aspect of B’Nottee’s productions — from cutting to dyeing to designing layouts. Currently the team is selling pre-made stationery products but they do accept customised orders, granted that the orders are in bulk. Production cost is no joke, kids.
