Call it math rock if you will, but the incongruous, heady clamouring of Ssighborgg defies categorisation. A duo consisting of multi-instrumentalist Sean Patrick Maylone (playing both guitar and keyboard simultaneously) and drummer DeAnthony Nelson Jr. (more than adept behind the kit), together they merge the vitality and technicality of live instruments and synthesisers to create a soundscape that fuses and repels the varying array of elements. Having opened for the likes of No Age, YACHT, Zach Hill (Death Grips), and Xiu Xiu, Ssighborgg is the kind of outlier music act that’s been cosigned from fellow (and bigger) likeminded bands, such as the aforementioned ones.
