48 Hour Film Project

What can you do in 48 hours? Sleep, watch some TV, mamak; repeat? Maybe sleep, do some shopping, get stuck in a jam, sleep; repeat?

The KL 48 Hour Film Project wants to you be more productive than that. Within 48 hours participating groups are required to write, film, edit and score a 7 minute film and a wild guess not much sleeping involved. Hectic much? It doesn’t stop there, each film must also incorporate a character, a line and a prop as well as genre into the 7 minutes. Completed films will actually be screened at  TGV KLCC; so bring out that bag of popcorn and check out the competition.

Started in 2001, the 48 Hour Film Project is actually a worldwide event. Last year over 40 000 film makers hailing from 80 different cities participated and produced 3000 films. Winners for the KL 48 Hour Film Project will represent Malaysia at the 48 Hour Project finals at Filmapalooza 2012.

It’s a great platform to flex your creative muscles and an interesting way to spend the weekend. Who knows you maybe become the next Yasmin Ahmad?
