THE GASTRO-BAR EXPERIENCE
Getting to know 42 East is like getting to know a person. First impression: a nice, comfortable, laid-back place. Then you start to notice pleasant surprises about its character. It’s a smoking bar, but you find that thanks to the great ventilation system, you don’t find yourself reeking of smoke by the time you leave. It’s big enough to seat about 100 people very comfortably. The bar is sleek and doesn’t take up any more space than it has to, and the service is an absolute joy. And then, the food. 42 East is popular for its pork ribs, and rightly so! Marinated in a special Guinness sauce and cooked until the meat falls off the bone, and accompanied by buttery mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables, the ribs are so good, we could cry. Other must-haves are the mussels cooked in white wine soup and the pork satay, which is a party in your mouth. Everything is reasonably priced, and the portions are more than substantial. We could go on and on, but words can’t do 42 East much justice. You have to experience it for yourself! 

CLIENTELE From office workers to families to late-night drinkers, it’s great for everyone.

DRINKS They’re particularly famous for their margaritas, but also serve a bevy of alcoholic drinks, as well as non-alcoholic soft drinks, juices, flings and coffees.

EATS Pork ribs, pork satay, pork burgers… if you love your babi, this is the place for you!

MUSIC POLICY At opening time, they play music from the ‘70s. As the evening progresses, the music gets more and more modern, and by 12am, you’ll be listening to today’s most popular songs.

PARKING No charge, just hope you can find parking on the street outside!
