2,800 AstraZeneca Vaccine Appointments At WTCKL Rescheduled Due To Overcrowding Issues
Some 2,800 appointments for the AstraZeneca vaccine on 15 and 16 May at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) have been rescheduled to a later date due to the rise of Covid-19 cases.
Khairy Jamaluddin, the coordinating minister for the nation’s Covid-19 vaccine programme said the 2,800 appointments will be rescheduled to new dates between May 17 and May 23, NST reported.
He said initially, 19,000 vaccination appointments were approved for both dates, but will only allow 16,200 recipients to get their AstraZeneca jabs due to over congestion.
“We want to avoid overcrowding at the PPV and ensure that physical distancing can be adhered to in a comfortable manner,” Khairy said on Monday (May 10) at a press conference.
The minister said that those who had their appointments on May 15 -16 will get notifications via MySejahtera app for the new dates starting Tuesday (May 11).
Khairy also said that the waiting list will be released by each AstraZeneca vaccination centre and anyone who is on the list will be contacted if there is an available slot.
