Molek FM12 Hours Live With Chivalry @ Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena
Being promoted as the “1st dance music festival of its kind in Malaysia” and served by Marctensia, 12 Hours Live With Chivalry was one big promising dish of music and dancing under one roof. With chart giants like Benny Benassi and Pitbull on the bill, there really was no doubt that this event was going to be a huge crowd-puller.
Partygoers at the event had to put up with an incredibly long queue at the entrance. Nevertheless, with the event held inside fully air-conditioned Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena with a killer sound system in place and ample space to move around, surely the battle was already half won. 1st up on the roaster were local boys Blink & XU, who killed it-as expected-with their volcanic tunes. When Roger Shah took to the decks, the crowd went wild. He really knew how to pump up the floor; everyone went berserk!
You cannot deny Pitbull’s popularity on Malaysian airwaves and hip hop club nights. All of his singles are played to death (much to our dismay or pleasure), but most of us might’ve underestimated Pitbull’s real talent as a performer. At 12 Hours Live With Chivalry, the man had proper stage presence! Love him or hate him, he certainly won over many new fans that night. Even though the rapper only performed for half an hour, ay papi, he did look swell in his signature tailored suit.
Before Benny Benassi took over, we went backstage to say hi to him. Although a world-renowned DJ, Benny was awfully friendly and even let us sit by the console while he did his thing on the decks. The sweet and lovely Lisa Lashes was the cherry on the cake. With her really high heels and liquid leggings, she took to the stage and brilliantly capped off the event’s final hours. Malaysians are truly a hard bunch to please, but everyone came away pretty satisfied that night.
