On 20 July ’17, the world of rock music suffered the loss of one of its most enigmatic voices. The death of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington left its mark on all of us, many of whom associate the sounds of the early ‘00s with Bennington’s raw, impassioned vocals. REVOFEV, a youth collective for music and the arts, will be hosting a tribute show at the Bee, Publika on 18 August ’17 dedicated to Chester Bennington and the music of Linkin Park. Malaysian acts Sekumpulan Orang Gila, Kyoto Protocol, Patriots, Scarlet Heroes, and Night Skies and Visions will be performing their renditions of the nu-metal band’s most defining tracks, a testament to the their impact and influence on a whole generation of musicians from around the globe.

Bennington’s death has sparked a series of heartfelt musical tributes from musicians of all backgrounds, from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s cover of ‘Crawling’, to rapper Machine Gun Kelly’s take on ‘Numb’. Most recently, Toni Cornell, daughter of Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, performed Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ with OneRepublic in remembrance of her father and Bennington, both of whom were lost to suicide within two months of each other.
