The lineup at the upcoming Raising the Bar Festival ’16 is already impressive, but with the latest addition of French producer Onra to the international roster of acts expected to perform, the only hip hop festival has set its standard high. Onra — a Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) alumnus — has a tendency to incorporate hip hop beats with a range of influences from disco to samples of vintage records found in countries such as China, Vietnam, and Thailand, which are encapsulated on albums Chinoiseries and Chinoiseries Pt.2. As usual with any RBMA gigs, the acclaimed producer will share with a lucky few his key moments in his career during a lecture session before he is scheduled to perform for his first show in KL at the festival.
