Curing the dearth of international-quality music festivals in Malaysia, Good Vibes Festival is back this year with a damned legit lineup of acts. On the band front are Melbourne act The Temper Trap, dance-y Irish lads Two Door Cinema Club (hopefully they won’t cancel their appearance this time around!), the current fav of every Tumblr girl, The 1975, sibling pop duo Angus & Julia Stone, and Canadian indie outfit Tokyo Police Club. The electronic side of things sees the lovelorn, lowtemp beats of Ta-ku, Ryan Hemsworth’s hip hop-informed production (don’t call it ‘future beats’), the body-obsessed pop of Purity Ring, producer extraordinaire Mark Ronson, and LA sultry songstress Alina Baraz. Locally, JUICE Malaysia alumni Enterprise, The Fridays, +2dB, Emir Hermono, mutesite, and Juno and Hanna will be joined by noughties legends Seven Collar T-Shirt, Edwin of They Will Kill Us All’s side-project TOKO KILAT, singer-songwriter Froya, hippie trio Jumero, your mom-approved rock band Kyoto Protocol, disco-leaning electro duo DANGERDISKO, and the dudes who supplied indie dance choons every Saturday at Zouk, Indiego & Co.. In addition to that, DJs Twinkies, WH and Curzon of BATE (playing individual sets), JHin, Axel Groove, Mmmeng, and Guibooo will provide some intermediate entertainment at the festival.
