This year marks the 12th anniversary of JUICE. To commemorate 12 years of offering you the best in music, fashion, and parties, we’ve got an epic shindig at brand new nightspot Capricorn lined up for Wednesday 24 September ’14 featuring — wait for it — English electronic duo Bondax, with a couple of our homegrown favourites like +2dB, Reddi Rocket, and DANGERDISKO joining in the fun! Yes, you heard it — the poppin’ production duo are making their way down here for a night of dope tunes, involuntary body movements, booze, and more booze.

Adam Kaye and George Townsend are a couple of young lads from Lancaster who together make up Bondax, famous for producing music with a quality that’s well beyond their years. Townsend started dabbling in production at age 15 before Kaye chimed in. Now signed to Relentless Records, the dynamic duo have been booked to tour the globe, ready to rock venues everywhere with their sweet remixes and chill-as-f*ck electronic numbers. And having headlined shows like Bestival and Creamfields, they’re more than capable of keeping crowds going.

There’s a certain sexiness to Bondax’s sound, an alluring quality owed to the soothing synths mixed with sultry vocals, made better by the blending of choppy beats. The twosome’s debut release ‘You’re So’ sees the 20-year-old production aficionados availing themselves of textural sounds with a romantic summer vibe. Think poppy vocals swimming through off-kilter beats and sliding synths. For the two, it’s tracks like ‘Gold’ and remixes like AlunaGeorge’s ‘You Know You Like It’ that really caught the attention of the masses, turning heads with their unique brand of electronic music that’s difficult to pigeonhole.

Local talents +2db are known for their dark, moody take on electronic music, setting ambient sounds that serve as the perfect accompaniment for rainy days. While recently the two have gone in a more up-tempo trip hop route, their signature darkness still spills through their production, observed in tracks like ‘Run’ which sees them getting some help from VMPRMYTH.

In an age where promising electronic acts are easy to come by, especially with platforms like SoundCloud, few acts are able to make it into the scene. Reddi Rocket is one of those acts whose music can well be compared to the bed-squeakiness the likes of Cashmere Cat. If you’ve been a regular at Indiego & Co. nights at Frangipani, then you would love DANGERDISKO, as one half of the duo is part of the weekly night. Even if you’re not, we wager you’ve heard of their infectious bootlegged remix of Sheila Majid’s ‘Sinaran‘. With that said, expect a ton of nu disco goodness from them.

With all these acts set to take over the decks at Capricorn for our 12th anniversary celebration, it will be one hell of an evening. So, get stoked!
