This capsule collection sees the reworking of two Vans classics; the OG Sk8-Hi LX and the OG Style 36 LX. The latter was inspired by unity and simplicity, which explains its usage of one shade as opposed to the usual multiple colourways found in most sneaker designs. The OG Sk8-Hi LX on the other hand, was inspired by another iconic Vans’ number, the Vans Caballero — a shoe designed by skate legend Steve Caballero that debuted in 1989 and is also a favourite of WTAPS founder Tetsu ‘Tet’ Nishiyama. Has the connection been made yet? Brilliant. This silhouette channels the vintage styling of the Caballero and features embossed reptile nubuck and durable suede reinforcements. This too comes in an all-black colourway, and as an important aside, both pairs contain pig skin material. Muslim collectors, don’t tell us we didn’t warn you!
