After catering to the materialistic needs of virtual sticker addicts, Vans has now worked with the superior company, Nintendo, to incorporate four of the iconic gaming behemoth’s most popular characters – Donkey Kong, Mario, the eponymous duck from Duck Hunt, and Princess Peach – on its silhouettes. The designs are spread across its Classic Slip Ons, Sk8-Hi, and Old Skool as well as apparels like t-shirts, socks, caps, and bags. Graphics that are chosen to represent each Nintendo character is one that is quickly identifiable to gamers and non-gamers alike; so for Mario, there are heaps of mushrooms, whereas Donkey Kong’s pieces feature various elements of the jungle. The best feature of this entire collection though — besides the fact that it’s showing love to Nintendo’s devotees — is the ‘game over’ on every shoe’s waffle sole.
