In just a few months, the Olympic Games will begin in historic Beijing and Adidas will be there to be a part of it, as it always has since 1928, when Adidas founder Adi Dassler created the first products for athletes to compete in Amsterdam. As the official sportswear partner to the Games, Adidas’ commemorative collection exemplifies the Olympic spirit of competition and sportsmanship.

The collection spans 5 different packs, each drawing from the inspirational stories and retro fashions of the Olympic Games that spans 8 decades. The aptly titled Medal Pack holds obvious references to the medals given to Olympic champions and features the most luxurious materials, adding metallic elements of the glorious colours of Gold, Silver and Bronze. And much like any China inspired projects, the colour red is in abundance in the China Story pack that commemorates China’s first ever participation in the Games in ’84.

The Greatest Moments pack pay homage to some memorable feats in Olympic history, in particular the ’68 Mexico Olympics Opening Ceremony and the 9.95-second 100m sprint achieved there. The Oddity Pack and Pictogram Pack bring back classic styles from the past, highlighting the Adidas sports tradition in a classic way and providing a canvas for the extensive history of the Olympics to show their multi-faceted culture.

Using vintage archival images and bright Olympiad colours, Adidas makes this collection a showcase of diversity and drive – the cornerstones on which the foundations of the Olympics Games are built on.

The adidas Original Games collection is available at Adidas Originals concept stores in Pavilion KL and Suria KLCC. For info, log onto www.adidas.com.my.
