Vans Launch Concept Store at 1-U
Got attitude, got Vans, will cause chaos! Ever since landing here in Malaysia, Vans has become the object of affection for sk8ers, punks and street chillers. From kids listening to anthems by skacore outfit The Suicide Machines (‘The Vans Song’) to crowd surfin and kickin in heads at The Warped Tour, nothing adjoins disaster and good ol’ fun like a pair of Vans sneakers. And now, Vans is launching their first concept stand-alone retail shop in Malaysia.
Located at One Utama Shopping Centre, the 585 square feet store featuring the latest men’s and women’s footwear, apparel and accessories will no doubt be a desirable spot for extreme sports and lifestyle enthusiasts to experience Vans’ 44 year old So-Cal heritage and to lay their hands on the latest chic Vans collections.
The store design evolved from Vans’ heritage utilising the wood, concrete, and steel evoking the raw beauty of Southern California’s surf, skate and youth culture with design cues that reflect self-expression through action sports and youth lifestyle.
In addition to the stand alone store, Vans will be distributed into selected Stadium, Studio R, Royal Sporting House and specialty lifestyle retailers: Sole What, krookz Enterprise, The Push, Original Classic, Zone 5, GDS Lab, Kasut You, Eng Hoe, Western Sport Sdn Bhd and Robinson General Store. May 2010 will also see the opening of the second Vans concept store at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall.
