The Black Eyed Peas won a few good Grammy Awards in February-though that is something else we’d debate on-but it’s group member Taboo’s funky shoe line with Jump Corporation that we’re really excited about. The limited edition sneakers were spawned from a meeting with the rapper/singer at the Jump’s Soho boutique, and since then Taboo has been seen rocking them at BEP tours.

Jump is originated from New York and became a global name in 1975. Produced by the Chen brothers from Taiwan-the brand powerhouse to Hongson as well as Travel Fox and Cable & Co-Jump’s popularity soon leaped into Hong Kong, China, Europe, Japan, South America and, in 2007, New York City. The brand’s innovative footwear design has reached top retailers like Printemps, Galeries Lafayette and Topman. Now, we can even find Jump in Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom.

The collaboration between Taboo and Jump comes as no surprise, as Jump sneakers have become one of the most defining high-end street footwear out there. Early this year, Taboo marked the global launch of the Taboo and Jump collabo by going on an Asia tour, starting with a visit to Jump’s design studio and manufacturing facilities in Dong Guan, China. Moreover, that tour has given Taboo the inspiration to develop his next shoe. Let’s hope by then that Jump would, uhm, jump over to KL.
