What goes around comes around and after the hyperbole of the 90s and naughties when sportwear was rebadged active lifestyle wear, Nike returns to its original passion for sport and goes back to its original 1979 label – Nike Sportswear.

Taking Nike classics and bringing them bang up to date with the latest Nike technologies,
Nike Sportswear drops this 8 August 08 in conjunction with the opening of the Beijing Olympics, with eight iconic Nike products – the Air Force 1, Windrunner, AW 77 Hoody, Nike Dunk, Air Max 90, Eugene Track Jacket, Cortez and NSW Tee.

As homage to the importance of the number eight in Chinese tradition, a colourful octagon motif is integrated into Nike Sportswear graphics and product detailing. The octagon design is silk-screened on t-shirts, repeated in patterns on garment linings and turns up in unexpected places from the neck and underarms of the Laser Runner jacket to the front, back and sleeves of the Flywire Windrunner. A good omen indeed.
