‘Case 999’ is the end result of two brands that were inspired by all things relating to police detectives. It’s easy to think ‘999’ is the brand’s way of completing its police-themed shoe but it’s not — ‘999’ just happens to be New Balance’s most popular sneaker, how convenient is its name to this project? Very is the answer. We’re guessing their biggest influencer for this collaboration was True Detective and you’ll see why in the gallery, unless you don’t follow the series, in which case — why not? Sneaker Politics reworked the best-selling running silhouette with a limited edition colourway that features deep navy, thick two-toned shoelaces that had its tips dipped in red to emphasise the brands’ attention to detail further, and premium brown leather.
