Not content with signing the 6 God to his grime label, some time last night, Skepta announced his partnership with Uniqlo via his Instagram account in conjunction with the relaunch of the Japanese retail brand’s flagship store in London’s Oxford Street. This means one thing; sales of Uniqlo’s sweatpants and sweaters will increase as rapidly as the Pound’s currency did against Malaysia’s Ringgit. This ‘Top Boy’ is among five other individuals who were announced as Uniqlo’s ambassadors; he stands alongside visual artist and Hijabster-favourite Hana Tajima, transgender model/activist DJ Munroe Bergdorf, model Cate Underwood, filmmaker Sean Frank, and BBC DJ Benji B. Now, the most pressing question is, what does Uniqlo Malaysia have to do to get Skepta to this part of the world?
