At only 25 years old, singer and actress Selena Gomez has a list of impressive achievements under her belt with her most recent one as Instagram’s most followed at 127 million followers, championing through even the most hottest social media stars in the planet. It’s no surprise though, fans love Gomez for her authenticity and courage to talk about Lupus, a commonly misunderstood illness that resulted in the artiste’s kidney transplant she received not too long ago from best friend and donor Francia Raisa.
I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made. She’s been keeping it low profile ever since the release of her new music ‘Bad Liar’ and ‘Fetish’, but Gomez still appears every now and then with none other than boyfriend Abel from The Weeknd. Already a huge name in the industry for her music, acting, and goodwill, Gomez has been picked up by sportswear brand Puma for a long-term partnership, according to a source. Puma has previously regained mainstream recognition thanks to a successful collaboration with Rihanna, so it’s definitely natural for the brand to give celebrity collaborations another shot.
On the collaboration, Gomez admits that she’s big on athleisure, and wears it often. While there isn’t much scoop about how her pieces will look like yet, but the ones released show Gomez sporting statement crop tops and comfortable workout gear that have the potential of being worn out of the gym. We also have our eyes on the velvet pink top Gomez is wearing, a fabric that’s been hot on both runway and activewear. Overall, we have a strong feeling that Selena Gomez will inject her effortless chic style into this collaboration to fit her own personal style.
“I mean, at this point, my boyfriend and I share closets, and [we’re] just kind of throwing different ideas around. Sometimes I’ll throw on his Puma stuff and just go out with my shoes. I’ll just wear that as a little cute date-night dress or something to the movies. You want to feel confident in it. When you start stressing about it and feel you have to create this image . . . you shouldn’t feel that way,” says Gomez when asked about how much thought she puts into her outfits.
