PUMA Suede Celebrates 50th Anniversary With a House of Legends Exhibition
If you’ve never owned a pair of PUMA Suedes or have only started jumping on the bandwagon after Rihanna’s PUMA Fenty’s, then you’re in it for a real treat ’cause the brand’s 50th anniversary celebration is bringing in more unique selections.
Paying homage to the shoes’ legacy in pop culture and the arts, PUMA has collaborated with various global and local brands and icons to deliver classic silhouettes of the Suede sneaker that debuted in 1968.
In conjunction with the special date, PUMA recently built an exhibition in Sunway Pyramid called the ‘House of Legends’ to showcase the best of global and local collaborations of the iconic Suede.
The three-day exhibition also gave the public the chance to participate in the Suede Design customisation contest, as well as a B-Boy performance and battles, all in line with the legacy of Suede B-Boy culture.
PUMA also took the opportunity to showcase collaborations with local icons such as film director Yusry KRU, Sam from Bunkface, designer Khoon Hoi, renowned scribble artist Vince Low and many others for the first time.
Some of the global collaborations present during the exhibition include existing collabs with Hello Kitty, streetwear brand FUBU, illustrator Michael Lau, and the return of the OG PUMA Suede and the ‘B-Boy’ pack.
That’s not all, PUMA Suede’s 50th celebration means that the year is full with special drops with brands like Pepsi, Swarovski, Barbie, MAC Cosmetics and many more.
