Since the general New Year celebration is over, that means Thaipusam and Chinese New Year are a few weeks away. Festivities aside, this also means Malaysians are rewarded with deserving public holidays and an excuse to spend money on new clothes. Levi’s® understands this; its latest global campaign entitled ‘It’s Not New Year If It’s Not New’ reflects on this way of life perfectly.
The brand has always given its food-loving audience aka everyone from the Asian region tender loving care, but this year it gives a little more TLC to its Malaysian customers. Levi’s® grouped ten popular figures in KL for a local campaign featuring personalities such as Shir Chong, Daphne Charice, Kittie Yiyi, Lawrence Wong, Nicholas Ong, Chrystina Ng, Brian See, Karena Teo, Fabian Loo, and Blanco Choo. Everyone dons garments from Levi’s® latest collection — pieces from Lot 700, the Commuter series, Levi’s® iconic 501 and 501 CTs, the 500 series for men, trucker jackets, and graphic tees.
These are essentially casual pieces for the person who doesn’t have any traditional outfit to wear during open houses or family reunions. A fun fact for those who didn’t know, all of Levi’s® women’s jeans available in this region are tailored specifically for the Asian build. The brand has taken our body’s features — that aren’t as full as our Western relatives — into consideration in order to enhance what our mothers gave us. Said cuts can be found in its Women’s New Denim Collection 700.
