Levi’s® Marks World AIDS Day
So, today’s the 1st of December. Besides being a wake-up call reminding you that you only have a grand total of 30 days to finish up – or in some cases start on – those 2008 new years resolutions, it’s also World AIDS Day (WAD). American denim house Levi’s® has come out with a range of exclusively designed, limited edition WAD tees. All profits from the sale of the tees will be channeled towards the APN+, the network of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Asia Pacific that aims to combat the widespread stigma and discrimination and provide better access to treatment and care. An effort that isn’t new to Levi Strauss and Co., the brand has been championing HIV and AIDS education and working with non-governmental organizations worldwide to prevent the further spreading of HIV. Levi Strauss & Co. and the Levi Strauss Foundation aim to address and subsequently prevent social biases placed unfairly upon those with HIV and AIDS, racism, xenophobia, sexism and homophobia, empower and collaborate with other funders and grantees, and has, since 1985, contributed over US$37 million in response to HIV and AIDS worldwide. The limited edition Levi’s® World AIDS Day tees will be available in selected Levi’s® Stores from today onwards. Stores will also be giving out special WAD pins to those who purchase them tees. So show your support in style and head on down to your nearest Levi’s® store today.
