The first camera Lenny Kravitz has ever used was his father’s Leicaflex, which was the beginning of everything that honed his passion for photographer. So, it’s only natural that the musician, actor and designer decides to collaborate with Leica to create a camera with a design that’s reminiscent of the beautifully aged Leica camera.

The Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ by Lenny Kravitz for Kravitz Design features a glossy back enamel for the camera body, and two lenses that have been intentionally aged in homage to a well-used camera system, with distinctive hand-created patina that reflects the shutterbug’s many years of constant use. The edition set also features an unusual trim of the Leica M-P cameras in the finest and durable snakeskin, from controlled sources that are not subject to species conservation regulations, used for the camera strap and wrist strap included in the set.

Now, the camera is not just aesthetically appealing, its inner works are also as attractive with its special version of the Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH, constructed in the classic design of its ancestor from 1959, with typical features of its predecessor, such as the scalloped focusing ring and finely knurled aperture ring. Alongside this vintage lens is also the Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH lens, both packed with their essential properties which include superior optical performance and extreme versatility.

Strictly limited to only 125 worldwide, the Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ by Lenny Kravitz for Kravitz Design set is presented in a bespoke case handmade in Germany specially for this edition, with the same design theme and material seen on the digital rangefinder camera.

Check out the Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ by Lenny Kravitz for Kravitz Design at any of the Leica boutiques located at Avenue K and Starhill Gallery.
