Leftblock x Nike Sportswear SS10 @ Padang, One Utama
Nike Sportswear deserves a pat on the back for coming up with a novel idea to present their SS10 collection by putting together a fun styling session in collaboration with fashion collective Leftblock, a collective that was formed to spread their individualistic styles by using fashion as a platform to express their creative voices.
Leftblock consists of 3 of the most fashionably unique bloggers in KL; Joyce Wong of www.kinkybluefairy.net, Michelle Pong of www.projectmuffstit.com and Jacinta Cheng http://travinia.blogspot.com. To have 3 very different and individual tastes coming together under one roof to play dress up with Nike Sportswear’s latest collection was really something to look forward to. As the SS10 collection is inspired by football the event was held at an open air futsal court on the roof of One Utama. A unique setting for a unique occasion indeed!
After battling the storm and traffic we managed to find our way to Padang. It was one of those events where you get to see all these young budding fashionistas together with the common love for fashion and my goodness weren’t they an excited bunch. The evening started soon enough with a styling session that used various Nike Sportswear pieces like the N98 jacket and they were transformed them to another level altogether! The highlight of the event was the much anticipated fashion show that showcased Nike Sportswear’s SS10 collection. The Leftblock girls used everyday materials like scrap cloth, vintage ties, fringe, mesh, and pom poms that brought Nike Sportswear’s latest collection to life by making them colourful, fun, and quirky.
Says Nike “The SS10 collection fuses innovation and sport heritage to enable Nike Sportswear to create new expressions of sport style. Inspired by football, the collection features the N98 Jacket and Grand Slam Polo with detailing that serves to inspire youth with the beauty and spirit of the game”.
JUICE definitely hopes to see more Leftblock collaborations in the future. Together these girls are leading the way for girls to express themselves through fashion. For their first effort we have to say it was pretty darn excellent.
