Keds is celebrating turning a century-old the best way a shoe brand knows how; churning out a collection that consists of sneakers, flats, slip-ons, and sandals. As a brand that puts women first since its inception, its prominent sources of inspiration for this collection were femininity and strength — key characteristics of Keds women. The key silhouettes to note here are the Champion Americana, Champion Teacup Jelly, and the Triple Colour Block — they look like creepers but are as comfortable as a pair of sneakers. In terms of colourways, Keds remains true to its roots by having most of the shoes painted in a coat of cobalt blue, followed by neutral hues like white, beige, and black. No brand can survive without having a little black in it. And of course, this is a feminine brand, so there are a few “Wow, those are bright/bold” pairs which feature the use of glitter, butterfly, snacks patterns (think hot dogs, pretzels, and pizza), and neon colours.
