H&M Studio A/W Menswear Collection 2017 Presents ‘Mountain Noir’
Embark to greater heights with a dashing combination of traditional and the hyper-new with H&M’s latest Studio AW17 menswear collection. Following the footsteps of today’s hottest trend in fashion, athleisure, the menswear line has incorporated a brand new concept that’s highly inspired by the thrilling and adventurous nature of mountaineering. Expect to see dark and brooding shades like navy, dark olive, and deep wine mixed with classic monochrome colours in this series of menswear, where timeless bomber jackets and the overcoat is reworked into a modern yet sophisticated silhouette.
Bringing mountaineering to the streets, the apparels presented in this collection pay close attention to details, adding rubberised buttons and tactile knits. It screams comfy, but without the slouchiness of your typical loungewear thanks to the line’s elegant cut and crisp tailoring. The collection also plays around with fabrics such as wool, mohair, technical nylons, and patent leather layered with brushed cotton to give out that laidback utilitarian look.
H&M’s head of design for menswear described the clash between traditional menswear and the athleticism of mountaineering as “the new accent in fashion.” The layering of colours and juxtaposition give the collection an overall polished look, without compromising on the element of comfort and ease. “So there is not only the contrast in materials, but special attention is also paid to balancing new, modern silhouettes with classics,” says Andreas Löwenstam.
