#HANGERLoveatFirstStride : H&M AW16 collection

There were much feminine power and folklore romance in the air during the H&M AW16 runway show over Paris Fashion Week.

An elevated collection of individual pieces that are rich in detail, it features powerful tailoring that creates an hourglass silhouette from an oversized shoulder and fitted waist in both coats and jackets, from oversized utility styles that wrap the body, to double-breasted wool coats with a rounded short sleeve.

Besides that, Swedish folklore inspires many of the key pieces in the collection, such as folkloric blouses, long sheer dresses print with the Swedish lynx motifs. Shearling adds contract and a sense of heritage, while sheer silk brings out the romantic and alluring prints of paisley, floral and images of the Swedish lynx.

Other pieces to look out for in this upcoming collection include crisp white shirts with exaggerated sleeves, laces with layering slips, pants that cut high and fall wide at the feet, long-sleeved dresses with blue velvet wrap and silver lurex pinstripe. All these going well with the accessories of a Gaucho hat, cowboy boots, small cube bags with thin straps, and round pendant necklaces.

The H&M AW16 collection will be available at selected H&M stores worldwide, as well as online later this year, from Thursday 8 September ’16 onwards.
