Hanger AW10 Party: What To Wear?

It’s time party up at our Hanger AW10 launch tomorrow!  it’s ‘Hot In The City’ where you can dress up to the street styles of NY, Tokyo, London as inspiration. Sound confusing? Well we are always here to help!

Tokyo should be the funnest of the bunch! Because its people take inspiration from just about everything so the possibilities are endless. Go Goth, or you can dress up as your favourite anime character – just go crazy as you don’t even need to worry about mixing your prints. That’s why Tokyo is one of the coolest cities in the world – they don’t follow trends, they make them so remember there is no right or wrong! Don’t forget to be self-assured nothing worse than being lost in all that loud colours and print!

There is a reason why everyone wants to dress like a Parisian. They have that certain je ne c’est quoi that is simply fascinating to the rest of the world. To top it off, it isn’t just about the clothes they wear, but how they carry their outfit with an air of sophistication and elegance. They like to keep things simple and then accessorize accordingly to your personality. If all else fails, wear lots of black. There is a quote I read somewhere that said “Parisian women are sexy at every age because they dress for men.” Parisians have the knack of looking stylish and age appropriate. And if you can embrace your real age, that confidence is sexy.

The 50s marked the era when fashion changed in Britain when the youth became a big influence in fashion, largely influenced by their rich music heritage. Find a genre that you like whether it be indie, punk, ska, Mod – even the rave and Happy Hardcore scene had its own style. Find your musical inspiration and top it off with some swagger and you’re good to go.

New York

It’s very hard to pinpoint this city’s style. Because the City has so many influences from their rich heritage and diverse races and cultures of immigrants that have come to call New York their home. You can choose to be inspired by the hispter community in Williamsburg, or the musician scene in Greenwich Village. And if you like the glitz and the glamour, you can take inspiration from the women of Sex and The City while the men, from none other than The Hova.

At the end of the day, with the internet making it possible for anyone to see what someone on the other side of the earth is wearing, we’ve come to take the best of every country and make them our own. And that’s the best, no? Individual style is what we make of it. See you tomorrow! Remember, Best Dressed Male and Female wins Premium Class tickets to Tokyo via Air Asia X. Best of luck!
