Google’s Fashion Takeover
It’s safe to say that Google is really taking over the world with the launch of their fashion site Boutiques.com, a more visual, more personalized shopping site that aims to change the way you shop online.
You can search and shop for items by using the conventional search tool, but Boutiques.com takes it one step further by letting online shoppers create their own fashion boutique. By liking or disliking something, this powerful tool calculates what your tastes are exactly so that you don’t have to waste your time searching through thousands of fashion items just to find what you want. Says Google on their blog:
“First we partnered with taste-makers of all types. We asked them not just to curate 10-50 great items they loved, but also to teach our site their style and taste. They did this by telling us what colors, patterns, brands and silhouettes they loved and they hated. They took a visual quiz that taught the site to understand their style genre: Classic, Boho, Edgy, etc. Our machine learning algorithms use this information to enable you to shop all of the inventory in the style of that taste-maker, on top of the 50 items they’ve hand-curated.”
Boutiques.com’s search engine is extremely detailed and if you don’t have a clue on what to match what, their web develop tools that have been programmed with style rules will help you out. This site even has an iPad app! Anything Google touches is definitely going to be powerful. Check it out for yourselves and give it a go.
