Clarks AW16 Athleisure Collection

Tri-Abby-Detail-2

Clarks recently gave its athleisure footwear a painless facelift that included making the shoes lighter, functional, and most importantly, visually pleasing to the current market. Its athleisure line includes four pairs for men — the Triken Active, Triturn Race, Triturn Hi, and the Flexton Wing — and three for women — the Tri Abby, Tri Nia, and Tri Attract.

For the men’s shoes, Clarks prioritised designing shoes that would emulate the weight of natural movement; the Triken Active’s uppers are made with highly breathable mesh and EVA soles to provide lightweight cushioning, which make it suitable for more casual or sport-related occasions. However, the Triturn Race and Flexton Wing are versatile shoes in a sense that they’re suitable to be worn during any occasion since the design is relatively dressy but not too far off the ‘sporty’ mark.

The women’s shoes embody similar aspects to the men’s range in terms of function and material, however, what sets the two apart is the Tri series’ emphasis on comfort. Each shoe received treatments that would make it the sneaker equivalent of clouds, so, take that, boys.
