At the beginning of the month, JUICE had the privilege to hit up the city of Bangkok to watch Nike’s Summer 2010 fashion show which was styled and directed by Carrie Mundane, designer of famous luxury streetwear label Cassette Playa.

Before the big fashion show at Central World Plaza, we had the opportunity to meet Carrie who told us all about her 24-hour process of directing and styling the Summer 2010 show. In the space of 24 hours Carrie was personally involved in a Bangkok-wide ‘street casting’ to find models for the show. Inspired by her love of football (she’s a hardcore Arsenal fan), her distinct street style and trademark Cassette Playa graphics, Carrie presented Thailand’s first ever visual graphic fashion show, showcasing her current Cassette Playa SS10 ‘Augmented Reality’ theme.

The show itself was held at Central World Plaza in an intimate space for 100 of Bangkok’s young and elite fashionistas and celebs like Thaitanium whose bandmate Khan was one of the models in the show. Carrie used her trademark ‘augmented reality’ touch by using real models who walked alongside pre-recorded virtual models that were projected onto the wall. Apart from Khan of Thaitanium, the show also included Ploy Horwang of Diet Pills while local music act Stylish Nonsense played live in the background.

When the show ended Carrie hung around for the afterparty. DJ Sunzone was on the decks and we got to meet a lot of awesome people from Bangkok – and goodness, aren’t they all a fashionable bunch!

JUICE would like to thank Nike for the opportunity to meet Carrie Mundane and for their kind hospitality. To check out Nike Sportswear Summer 2010, check out our post here. For more pix, check out our gallery of Bangkok and the show!
