Hari Sportswear
Hari. Who would have thought such a name would belong to a London luxury sportswear label? The answer to LA’s Juicy Couture velour tracksuits, London label Hari is here to save the day for fashionistas who are constantly on the go.
Designed by yoga guru, Lainey Sheridan Young, Hari was created to be comfortable, functional and flattering without compromising on style taking you from gym to movie easy. The unique name was taken from the name of the lion in one of the ancient Vedas. Lainey herself is a Leo and loves the power the lion symbol represents. The collection’s symbolic logo of the lion with the heart on its tail implies Love and Pride.
Launched mid-2007 with fans in Madonna and It-girl Daisy Lowe, Hari’s collection is made for women that lead active lifestyles, and in bold bright colours is suitable for the urban chicks wanting to make a statement. The collection includes the ever-popular t-shirt dress, tanks, cashmere sweaters, inside-out jumpers and what is called the Off-Duty Icon hoodie in honour of its fans.
Back in 2008, graff artist Alex Young reworked the lion image on the back of the Off-Duty Icon hoodie in a strictly limited edition version. He returns with yet another collaboration -Â a range of carnival-inspired t-shirt designs for its Spring/Summer 2009 collection, The Urban Circus.
Daisy Lowe modelled the Autumn/Winter 2008 collection but has now passed the reins onto Vivienne Westwood’s reported new muse, Tolula Adeyemi.
