Marc by Marc Jacobs eyewear AW10/11
One of the great things about fashion is its ability to take things from the past and reinvent a style to fit the present. A great example is Marc by Marc Jacobs’ latest eyewear collection that takes the best loud traditional african prints you can find and pairs them with frame shapes from the 50s, 60s and 80s. Add in a dash of different styles that are seen in NY and LA and you get a totally brand new collection unlike anything we’ve ever seen before!
Of course, we might be exaggerating a little but these frames really are somethin’. Sophisticated yet fun, there’s a 50s inspired cats eye frames that comes in tons of colours like animal prints in shades of black-white, black-fuchsia and black-green, and if you like something more subdued you can pick the classic all black version too! The 80s are really hot now and if you are lovin’ the revival of this era then you will definitely love the clear/coloured injection moulded ones that come in colour choices like green, orange, fuchsia, blue or purple. But the ones that we want, that we really, really want are the ones above that look like Blublockers with its metal detailing for shades. It makes us want to zig-a-zig-ahhh – whatever that means!
