Topman SS09: Darjeeling
Time for T. And by that we mean “Topman”. Drawing inspiration from a spiritual train journey across Asia, Topman’s Spring Summer 09 Darjeeling theme bears a feeling of understated luxury and exotic romanticism.
The hallmarks of the theme are its soft and relaxed silhouette and the use of soft, natural fabrics. Layering is evident throughout with soft suiting worn with sheer shirting and lightweight vests, whilst washed denim shirting is matched with relaxed holiday shorts.
The look wouldn’t be out of place in a Duran Duran video circa ‘Hungry Like The Worf’ minus boxy silhouettes and shoulder pads of the time, for those who remember and 80s revivalists. The trend is finished with a selection of washed, lightweight cotton scarves and desert boots, and pastels feature throughout. Not sure about that pretty boy hair though.
