Ed’s Picks: Coveting Kate Moss

I’m not a Kate Moss fan. Frankly she looks like a gapped-tooth, over-tanned tea lady. But that’s probably just me ’cause the rest of the world laps Kate Moss up. British highstreet brand Topshop continues their successful run of collaborations with her with their latest AW09 line. Piccies landed on my desk yesterday and already I’m feeling under pressure. Look’s like this Christmas the nephew and niece will have to do without pressies. More faves from the new line after the jump.
The latest Kate Moss For Topshop Autumn/Winter 09 collection is huge. But what really jumps out are some seriously gorgeous dresses. The tea dresses that we’ve seen all Spring and Summer are largely gone but if this is a wardrobe staple for you then a combination of fiercely rocking body hugging shapes and flouncy feminine frocks is an extension of that feel.
As Kate is getting on in years, relatively speaking – she’s 35 – the collection is quite mature, so it will suit women of all ages. And as she’s not a fan of colour even in summer, there’s an abundance of black too. End of the year means plenty of sparkle and there’s a hard as nails glamour throughout this line.

The season also entails that most of our body parts are largely covered up. There is an exception to this rule. Apart from shoulders and a hint of back, as is de riguer, it’s all about the legs with Miss Moss so hemlines are crazy short, which means this collection while forgiving on the body, it’s not on the pins. So now I’m gonna have to splurge on a gym membership too. Damn you Topshop. Damn you Kate.
The full collection revealed tomorrow.
