Vans x Slayer
Kaki metal are gonna dig this because if there was ever a shoe that says don’t f**k with me you, whimp ass b!tch, this is it. Skate brand Vans adds to its line of well cred music themed shoes and forms an unholy alliance with scary thrash metal band Slayer on this apocalyptically rockin’ limited edition collection.
Arguably one of the biggest thrash metal bands of our time, the controversy courting California band Slayer rose to fame as one of the leaders of the American thrash metal movement with their 1986 release Reign in Blood, dubbed one of the heaviest albums of all time by Kerrang! magazine.
The Vans x Slayer limited ed finds its inspiration in the band’s 2003 Soundtrack To The Apocalypse compilation. The black suede Vans shoes features the album art and is emblazoned with Slayer’s diabolically evil logo on the side panel of the Sk8-Hi and front panel of the Classic Slip-On. The Slayer shoes come complete with Vans signature vulcanised rubber sole for undeniable grip, which ought to prove handy at the skatepark or in the moshpit.
Notorious for the shouty vocals and speed guitar solos ain’t even coming close to why Slayer and Slayer fans aren’t to be messed with though. Given the band’s use of satanic imagery during their early performances and their somewhat questionable lyrics, which have touched on all things taboo from Nazism to necrophilia, it’s a wonder how these shoes got made at all. Which is why we reckon you need to get a pair now before someone gets wind of it. As for the rest of you, stop quaking in your own downtrodden shoes and get the hell out of the way. Please.
