Onitsuka Tiger Goes for Metal-Free Leather This Time Around
Eco-friendly fashion has grown from CSR to a lifestyle these past few years and in addition to that positive change, Onitsuka Tiger – initiated by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949 – is kicking up their Autumn/Winter campaign with the debut of a metal-free leather option called the ‘Soft Marty’. On a bigger scale, chrome-free leather is a huge step in the revolution of leather since metal has long been used in the tanning process in leather making. The removal of metal from the leather tanning not only calls for a better environment, but reduces harm on humans.
For the guys and girls who’ve been in tune with the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) way of life, the fusion of eco-friendly technology and quality helps give the ‘Soft Marty’ shoes that airiness new generation sneakers carry, so you can prance around thanks to the float-like sensation the shoes have. The Wonder of Gravity concept provides the relaxed look and feel of the ‘Soft Marty’ shoes, and each pair comes in a neutral cream shade that is adorned with the brand’s signature Onitsuka Tiger stripes. The earthy tone of the ‘Soft Marty’ goes with anything you can imagine, and it is available in three iconic Onitsuka Tiger range: GSM, Mexico 66, and Tiger Corsair.
The ‘Soft Marty’ Mexico retails at RM839, while the ‘Soft Marty’ GSM and ‘Tiger Corsair’ both retail at RM739.
All three designs are now available at Onitsuka Tiger outlets (Sunway Pyramid, KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall, Gurney Plaza). More from Onitsuka here.
