Uniqlo SS12
All my life I’ve always been a mostly black/white/grey combo kinda person. I could blame it on my metal music upbringing or the necessary teenage angst ridden phase I went through not too long ago (I just turned 21), but really, for some reason colour never felt like it really suited me. Colour is daring and I for one am the total opposite.
Maybe it comes with age, but I’ve slowly started to embrace colour as of last year when colour blocking played a huge part in 2011. Good thing the colour block trend is still going strong in 2012 so I have a chance to introduce even more colour into my wardrobe. If you’re sort of new to colour too then it’s always good to start with basics like tees and tanks. Uniqlo’s new range of of apparel this SS12 is filled with bright fun colours so it’s pretty much a good place to start. Their quick dry line comes in a whole bunch of seasonal colours – great if you need to prepare for your outfit for next week’s big event (Future Music Festival Asia baby!). And when we say “bunch” we mean 36 colours worth from Uniqlo’s signature line, the pocketable waterproof Colour Parkas for men and women. Best be prepared should the festival peeps forget to call a bomoh for FMFA.
Uniqlo’s also have a few collaborations and projects coming our way. This season, designers Barney Barrett, Dictionary Mosslight, Double Standard Clothing and Nine DXC designed by K are on board with Uniqlo’s famous Designers Invitation Project, and for the Uniqlo UT SS12 Collection, the Japanese brand collaborates with Laura Ashley, Lulu Guinness and Orla Kiely.
