Mydin Intern Secures Permanent Position From Managing Director After Flooding Twitter Timelines With Memes

Amidst the devastating news flooding our timelines last week concerning the gloomy weather, one intern brought some humour to the situation via Mydin Malaysia’s Twitter account.

After becoming trending on Twitter after the fiasco of people looting their stores during the flood, the admin of the Twitter page took a screenshot of how “Myvi” was also trending and slowly catching up to them.

The admin then posted a tweet making light of the situation whilst inserting a hilarious picture of a Myvi following closely behind.

The Twitter page became filled with memes as the admin created them at any chance they got. Check out some of the highlights!

It was later revealed that the admin behind the account was actually an intern, who was only staying until the end of December. However, netizens have been asking Mydin’s management to offer the intern a permanent position in the company.

The tweet attracted local cinema operator, GSC and online video streaming service provider, iQIYI, both who replied to the tweet asking the intern to submit their resume to them instead.

Mydin’s Twitter admin then tweeted to their big boss, Datuk Wira Ameer Ali Mydin, asking him for the permanent position after a user ‘threatened’ to unfollow their account on December 23.

On January 1, Ameer Ali responded to the tweet by giving the nod to the request with a simple ‘ok’ from his own Twitter account. The tweet has garnered over 6,000 likes with over 4,000 retweets.

And of course, a celebratory tweet was only mandatory. Congratulations, admin!

Mydin managed to rise to the top of their social media game after tweeting an image of their Sri Muda branch with the name sign edited to ‘Ourdin’.

The play on the name was a hit, as it came after Mydin head honcho said he forgave looters who broke into their Shah Alam store and expressed his understanding of their situation since they were flood victims who were cut off from their food supply for days.
