Fred Perry Authentic SS12
Tis’ the season to play sports! Fred Perry dedicates its SS12 collection to chic sportswear that are great on and off the field.
Both ‘Champions Tour Kit” (women) and “Games Collection” (men) collection is divided into 3 key themes: “Team Travel”and “Track and Field” for both collections and the 3rd called “Downtime” for women and “Games Collection” for men.
Team Travel
Uphold the pride and image as you represent your “team” while on tour. Team Travel serves as the most formal part of the Authentic SS12 Collection with 1960s inspired casual menswear such as Umpires Jackets and lightweight Harrington paired with either ecru chinos or fine stripe trousers. For the traveling sportswomen high waisted Chinos and Chambray Short in kit blue is key, both fitted with waist adjusters found on vintage Fred Perry shorts. Pair them with the Fred Perry Classic Gingham shirt, the chambray racer back vest and Fred Perry’s traditional 2-pocket blazer and you’ll be looking as sharp as ever.
Track and Field
Traveling aside, it’s now time for you to perfect your skills on track. Fred Perry has a longstanding history of developing sports clothing for training and performance. For the men’s collection this theme looks back to simple, heritage clothing with low tech detailing through Fred Perry sweat tees in vintage steel marl and crew neck swears paired with chambray or gingham shorts for flexibility and movement. The women’s collection features the Fred Perry crew neck sweat and dress for the perfect comfort wear combo. Fred Perry references low tech natural fabrics such as hemp mixed with cotton with a retro colour palatte. Classic sportswear styles feature colour blocking found on cotton vests, tees and Fred Perry jersey dress.
Downtime
Every sportswoman needs some downtime after a long day of training. This off-duty look features fun, feminine Fred Perry prints on the summer check button down shirt dress while the graphic leaf print cap sleeve shirt and the polka dot shirt dress are based on the original 1940s print. To finish of the Authentic SS12 Women’s Collection, Fred Perry adds the traditional lightweight Duffle Coat and the Chambray Parka.
Games Collection
To round off the Authentic men’s collection the Games Collection feature must-have apparel for every competing sportsman from the classic Henley and Polo tees, bomber jackets to accessories such as the canvas desconstructed barrel bag and Beresford canvas shoe for every athlete.
