The Japanese graphics and Americana wear-appropriating British brand is quickly becoming a fashion mainstay in Kuala Lumpur since it launched last year. Expanding further into this region, they now have their sight firmly on Penang — a natural choice considering how much of a hip go-to destination the Pearl of the Orient has become as of late. Fully aware of Penang’s increasing status as an artistically-inclined state, Superdry’s launch there will be held at Hin Bus Art Depot, an art gallery built into a heritage building that formerly acted as what its namesake would suggest. Lineup includes Changkat regular Alex Asquared (little known trivia: his family originated from Penang and word has it the man himself might be moving there), the island’s arguably most prominent name in nightlife, Ramsey Westwood, and finally Xu of LapSap, whose shows in Penang with Ze Arcade Paint regularly saw pax crowd.
