We love it when simple love songs receive video accompaniments that heighten the emotional weight in the lyrics — the video from Jake Morley does the trick. “It’s about the future of our digital life, our relationship with reality and each other and holding onto emotions,” Morley says of the video for ‘Ghostess’. With that in mind, the video takes on the point of view of someone stumbling around a dark familiar place, only to find the titular ephemeral being. Frightened, he flees and the screen flickers to a scene to reveal that he was in a virtual reality.

It certainly is affecting in they way that he still tries to grapple at the faint presence of his former lover, even if it’s just a simulation of their romantic connection.
