Our local rap OG aka the man behind the famous line (“Budak Subang Jaya memang ada gaya“) has tamed down the flamboyance for an upbeat number that is also his first English single after a long time, following the success of Havoc in 2013. Titled ‘Drop’, the single returns to good old bars with Joe singing reggaeton-inspired choruses, dropping the swagger from his previous hits in favour of mature storytelling about the music industry and taking chances. Joe took the leap with ‘Drop’, a song he considers very personal and dear, over two Malay singles ‘Sampai Jadi’ and ‘Dua Lima Dua’ that were initially set to release first.

“Think about a drop in the ocean. It may feel like a small, insignificant event in life but it’s the simple things that we have to start appreciating and remembering,” said Joe to a source.

Joe is also, as it seems, ready to receive criticism about the music video. Shot at the beautiful shores of Phuket, Thailand, Joe can be seen frolicking around the beach with a babe that may or may not be his muse, as reported by a close source. Regardless of what the haters might say, ‘Drop’ sounds like a promising entry into the international hip hop scene.
