Named after the largest island in his native Indonesia, the sound of (Time Lord) Pradana’s ‘West Halmahera’ is vaporwave done right. With a soothing pitched down vocal sample that sounds something like noncommital singing, beautiful synth lines, and a mood that is indicative of Halmahera’s landscape, the track dodges the glitchy route of the genre, only employing it towards the end with subtlety. From juke to this, it seems like the Indonesian-Malaysian producer can compose just about any electronic genre effortlessly.
