IKEA is a well-loved brand for various reasons; its furniture has the best names – like Dombås, Skänka, and Sensuell, it really cannot get better than that – then there’s something about its meatballs that Malaysians are willing to queue up for, and most recently, it’s a source of inspiration for Against Lab and Stakes. These labels have collaborated on their first capsule collection together by reinterpreting what IKEA’s transparent bag would be like as wearable garments and accessories; the collection, entitled ‘X-Ray’, includes two graphic t-shirts and a hoodie – this piece in particular is considered to be unconventional as it has a patch of transparent polyethylene from the IKEA tote bag itself sewn besides a text that reads ‘A Rebel To The Bone’. Nothing says rebel more than transposing IKEA’s tote bag into a fashion statement.
